Was it really only 2 years ago that we set off on this epic journey?
Today, we want to share some of the views from our bedroom window that continually inspired us along the way.
Most of the images here you will find on the 'explore map' as 'points of interest' - when you zoom in on the map and click on the little photo icon, the images will come up as a slide show - they are often outside the major towns, so are not included in the 'directory location' slide shows.
The first one you see here is Puponga Beach near Farewell Spit - the last outpost of land at the tip of the NW of the South Island. At low tide we dug up some cockles and had a wonderful spaghetti vongole for dinner!

Cape Foulwind, just south of Westport in the South Island - beautiful views from the clifftop and a lovely walk up to the lighthouse. If you keep walking from the lighthouse for about 40 minutes you come to Tauranga Bay - home to a colony of New Zealand fur seals.
The next image is of a beautiful tranquil setting - a farm we were
staying on in the Catlins. Very peaceful, and what a stunningly beautiful part of the South Island.
Hope these inspire you to explore both eyeballnz.com and plan your next trip to explore the real thing.
A big thank you and welcome to all of our new followers and advertisers. We hope you enjoy eyeballnz.com - and don't forget you can add your images to the community pages to enrich the site even further.
Happy travels.
