The Explore Map is generally the best place to start your navigation around the site, it's Google map based so the controls should be familiar to most. As soon as you open the Explore page you will be presented with a map of NZ with a series of images attached to it. You can 'grab' and move the map to wherever you wish with your mouse and when you zoom in, more image icons will appear.
When clicking on any of these images, a speech bubble appears with a slideshow for the area inside (illustrated below). There are 2 types of speech bubble - ones with 'more information' on them - clicking on these will take you to detailed information of the place with tabs for facts, accommodation, activities etc. The speech bubbles without 'more information' are 'pictures of interest' for instance a lighthouse or aerial view of a piece of coastline without a town attached to it.
