New Zealand Climate

New Zealand is situated in the Southern hemisphere where our seasons are the opposite to that of the Northern hemisphere. Due to the country being a relatively narrow landmass, weather in New Zealand can change unexpectedly as cold fronts or tropical cyclones blow in.  If undertaking outdoor activities, you should always be prepared for sudden changes in weather and temperature, especially in bush and mountain areas and out on the water.
