New Zealand Climate

New Zealand is situated in the Southern hemisphere where our seasons are the opposite to that of the Northern hemisphere. The warmest months are December to February with average maximum temperature ranges between 20-30ºCand the coldest are June to August with average maximums of 10-15ºC.  For more information on climate and weather conditions check the New Zealand Met Service website www.metservice.co.nz

Due to the country being a relatively narrow landmass, weather in New Zealand can change unexpectedly as cold fronts or tropical cyclones blow in.  If undertaking outdoor activities, you should always be prepared for sudden changes in weather and temperature, especially in bush and mountain areas and out on the water.
